i knew i hated being taken seriously...

This is a lesson in irony.

So the screenname for this diary, steal my purse, is actually a takeoff from a Shakespearean play called "Othello[some of you out there may have heard of it]. However, sometimes life imitates art, as it did for me just a few nights ago.

The setting is Thirsty Thursday. TT for short. Of course as we all know too well, TT is the night of drunken revelry on college campuses acrost the United States. My fair university on the border of WI and MN is no exception to this unwritten code. So on TT, many people wander the hallways gathering spirits and having chats with the locals[this was once upon a time called wassailing]. During this little reveling fest, I was taking a shower to break the mind-bending fever I have been fighting most of the week.

I was out of the room perhaps twenty minutes and someone snuck in and stole my purse. Granted, I did leave the door unlocked, but I didn't leave it wide open. Someone stealthily walked into my room, grabbed my purse, and ran. Of course, being the complete flip that I am sometimes, I didn't notice until a full three or four hours later.

A police report was filed, but the policeman[in his most reassuring voice, presumably]told me that my purse was probably in a trash can somewhere and the chances of getting it back were slim. I love it when the local law enforcement tries its damndest to reassure the public about their general safety, especially on a campus of nine thousand people. Thank you Deputy Doofy.

So yesterday my purse was anonymously returned. Someone had found it in the commons area. No word about who took it, or what they took it for, but since everything was in its proper place. The culprit will probably never be found but at least I have my purse back with the three dollars in my wallet, my health records from childhood, and my keys.

Children, sometimes life is just too damn ironic.

Quote of the day:"I was going to laugh at how ironic it was but I decided to be concerned for you and your purseanges.-[Tent-Boy]--yeah you giggled now...admit it.
